With each new year, I am eager to embrace a new start and fresh perspective. I reflect on the previous year and things that I have not done so well. I have been too impatient, too self-absorbed, too particular. I have not offered grace to others enough. I have not gone the extra mile to help out in acts of service.
There is always a desire to make New Year’s resolutions but I must be honest that my good intentions inevitably fall short. This old flesh is weak. The spirit is diligent to prod me along. I welcome you Holy Spirit. Do not stop speaking the words of conviction that I need to hear.
I dedicate more time in 2024 to meditate on the Word of God and surrender to its washing of my old man and its fallen nature. I desire more times of devotion and prayer with my heavenly Father to get His direction and plans for each day. I vow to follow after His promptings and leading along my journey this year. My successes and positive outcomes will reflect my closeness to Him. This is the only New Year’s challenge I need.
