Lately I have been interested in old needlework. Perhaps I am realizing how much time must have gone into these antique treasures. It is becoming more rare to find things these days that took such time and detailed work. I remember doing cross-stitch pieces when I was a young woman. It took many long months to make the North Carolina Tarheel Mascot, Ramses for my husband’s 30th birthday. It now proudly hangs in the office next to his college diploma. We must cherish these heirlooms from our family and remember their labors of love.
